An upcoming Texas Department of Transportation project will reconfigure existing Interstate 10 ramps and add a braided ramp near the Fountains at Farah in East El Paso, and a new video shows what the improvements will look like once completed.

The freeway will also get auxiliary lanes between Viscount and Airway Boulevards, lanes that are created at an on ramp and must exit at the next off ramp.
According to the video, westbound traffic on I-10 will have an exit to Hawkins Boulevard (and the Fountains at Farah) further west than the existing ramp. An on ramp from Gateway West will travel over this off ramp, creating a "braided" ramp configuration.
The on ramp will merge with the existing on ramp closer to Hawkins Boulevard, and then enter the freeway via an auxiliary lane. This should allow traffic using the easternmost Fountains driveway to enter the freeway without having to go through the traffic lights at Hawkins, as it is today.

The $12 million project is part of the 2013 El Paso County Comprehensive Mobility Plan which includes 16 projects in all. No construction start date has been announced but could begin in 2017.
