Cabela's Coming to West El Paso

A Cabela's location could be the first tenant revealed for the upcoming West Towne Marketplace in El Paso, according to City permits.

The store would span 48,305 square feet, giving it a smaller footprint relative to other Cabela's locations.

Cabela's bills itself as the "World's Foremost Outfitter" for outdoor equipment, popular with hunting, fishing, and camping enthusiasts. The retailer operates 85 stores in the United States and Canada.

Bass Pro Shops recently announced it has acquired Cabela's for $5.5 billion. Initial comments from company officials indicate that Cabela's will continue to operate under that brand name.

West Towne Marketplace is currently under construction at the corner of Desert Boulevard North and Paseo Del Norte in West El Paso. The 500,000 square foot center was announced in February 2016 and will feature retail, restaurant, and entertainment options on the 63-acre property.
