New Retailers for Fountains?

Center’s Site Plan Reveals Possible Unannounced Tenants

A Fountains at Farah site plan showing “confirmed” tenants was recently revealed on KVIA newscasts and at the news outlet’s website showing possible tenants that have not yet been announced or rumored. The retailers, a woman’s clothing store and a contemporary restaurant, may be added to the promenade area of the Fountains.

Altar’d State (www.altardstate.com), based in Knoxville, Tennessee, is a woman’s clothing and accessory retailer formed in 2009. The company began as a “modern Christian” retail store and coffee shop, but evolved into a women’s fashion boutique in 2010. Altar’d State now has nearly 30 locations in the United States, mostly in the southern and Midwest areas of the country, including three in Texas. The company stresses policies that “give back” to the community such as donating a percentage of sales to charities on certain days or selling brands from partners that have similar guidelines.

Immediately across the promenade will be a new Kona Grill location, a self-described “modern American grill and sushi bar.” According to the website (www.konagrill.com), typical restaurants seat 275 patrons and serve lunch and dinner. Restaurants include a dining area, full service bar, patio, and sushi bar. The Scottsdale, Arizona-based company was founded in 1997 and operates 23 restaurants in the country, including four in Texas.

Another restaurant, Firehouse Subs (www.firehousesubs.com), has confirmed a Fountains location at its website. Firehouse Subs is a fast casual restaurant serving “steaming hot subs.” The Florida-based company has over 600 locations in 35 states.

The newest site map, provided to KVIA by the City of El Paso, was posted online last week at kvia.com. The website now has a “Current List of Tenants” but does not mention either Altar’d State or Kona Grill. The tenants have not officially confirmed a location at the Fountains, and no possible opening dates have been revealed.

The Fountains at Farah shopping center is scheduled to open in October, and some retailers such as Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx have already announced official grand opening dates.
