Dental School to Open at Texas Tech El Paso Campus

The Texas Tech University Health Science Center (TTUHSC) in El Paso has announced a new addition to its campus, a new dental school that will open in the coming years.

The school is made possible thanks to a $25 million donation from the Hunt Family Foundation, though additional fundraising will be necessary to reach the final price tag, expected to cost over $50 million.

This will be the fourth school added to the burgeoning medical school campus in Central El Paso. following the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, the Gayle Greve Hunt Nursing School, and the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.

Officially called the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine, it is scheduled to open in fall of 2020. It has been nearly 50 years since last dental school opened in Texas.
