A grand opening event is planned for the spray park at Sue Young Park, located at 9730 Diana Drive, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will include food, music, and family activities.

"This spray park has amusement park-style features that shower its users with water and create interactive zones that encourage children of all ages and their families to participate in group play and fun" states Park and Recreation Director Tracy Novak in an email.

"Users of the park do not need any special swimming skills, it will be ADA accessible and best of all, it is free to the public."

The $1 million project includes 20 to 30 water features that are triggered by either depressing a button or by passing in front of a motion sensor. There is no flowing water unless someone is playing in the spray park. The Sue Young spray park has a soccer theme.
