The newest pictures of what the $28 million biomedical research and technology commercialization building may look like when completed are concept images that are more refined than initial renderings. The 83,000 square foot structure will be the first on the 13 acre Tech Park located two blocks to the east of the Raynolds Street and Gateway East Boulevard intersection.
In a recent press release, MCA Foundation President Emma Schwartz stated, “This project belongs to the whole community, so it is wonderful to see the community supporting it is such significant ways. We are tremendously grateful to Jack Cardwell for his leadership and endorsement of this project.”
The Tech Park is on the northern edge of the MCA campus which includes the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, University Medical Center, and the El Paso Children’s Hospital. A new school of nursing will also be built at the campus in the next few years.
Construction on the Cardwell Collaborative building is expected to start next year with completion set for 2015.
